It's Time to Give Up

Totally. Give. Up.

Bad food that is.. Not anything serious! You thought this was going to be something serious.  It never fails, that over the Fall and Winter seasons I gain quite a few pounds. I typically add about 10 - 15 lbs over a very short time frame. Just enough weight to hate my image. It's not because I have a negative view on how the female body should look, it's because I'm not comfortable in my own skin once I hit over 130lbs. Now, 130 is not a bad weight, at all. But when it's mostly fat, and I'm at 25% body fat, it is for my height and sanity.

SO, it IS serious. Very serious to me. It's time to get serious about health and well being! I cannot allow myself to put on 15lbs every Winter because then I just struggle with the shedding of the weight again in the Spring. I've been eating better already, so I'm not viewing this as a resolution. I don't think a "resolution" holds weight when I promise myself to do them. I've only been able to accomplish one in my "lifetime."

This December is going to be very important. I'll be graduating from East Carolina with my MBA and I don't want to put on the pounds before walking across the stage to be hooded!

SO. For the next 12 months, I will be giving up a food, food group, or food ingredient that has negative effects on my personal health.

1 per two months, they may repeat, but they will be completely removed from my diet (with supplements for the nutrients that they provide, if any.) If I feel extremely better after one month, I may stick them out for the rest of the year, because why not? I'm writing this to have the community hold me accountable along with myself.  I am already a vegetarian, so there are not many "terrible" things that I can remove; but I will be removing some of the fatty foods that I eat.

Also, I am vowing to not have Taco Bell for the entire year. I have a miserable obsession with TB and their wonderful $1 menu; but when you eat it twice a day or 5 times a week, it's just.... extremely bad for you. Even though I love it... It's time to let it go. :(

So my proposed schedule is below:

January - February: Soda
March - April: Wheat based products
May - June: Cheese
July - August: Chubby's*
September - October: Guasaca*
November - December: Sweets (any dessert foods, not foods that have a natural amount of sugar)

* For those who are not in North Carolina, Chubby's and Guasaca are two Mexican food restaurants that are fantastically delicious, but can pack the lbs on very quickly.

I will also be joining the NC State gym,  because I get an employee "discount!"

So let's see how this goes. I really hope it goes fantastically.

Updates - updates everywhere!

Oh, how can one person not be as excited as I am with so much going on in life?!

MBA Update

Firstly, I did fail that Accounting exam. :( But with a 12 point curve (clearly I wasn't the only one that did terribly), I was about to pass with a C. It looks like I'm living by the "B's & C's get degrees" with this course. As long as I remain about a 3.0 GPA by graduation, I should be good to go. I know that I will have that, easily. :) -brag,brag,brag-  I'll just have to devote much more of my time to studying for the next exam... Because that's fun.

Get Her to The Wheel - I'll be Reaching Out More

With a following starting to gain on social media sites, I'm going to reach out to a different non-profit/local charity to see if they are accepting of me using their likeness. The one non-profit I reached out to has not gotten back to me, and sadly but fortunately I'd like to get something chosen soon so we can all start raising funds! :)

Please make sure to follow the pages below so that you can stay up-to-date on the progress.

Facebook: Search: Get Her to the Wheel. (I cannot get a personal URL until 25 fans. :()

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

With Harry Potter World under a month away, I don't think that I could be any more excited!  We've got a breakfast planned at both The 3 Broomsticks and the Leaky Cauldron.  Dinners and lunches will more than likely be sandwiches and chips so that we can save some money! Since flights are undeniably expensive, we're going to be driving down to Florida.  That itself will save us quite a bit of money, not only on the cost of the flights, but the shuttle and taxi fees if we wanted to get anywhere other than the hotel.  I'm going to be buying a fanny pack. My boyfriend laughs at me when I tell him, but I need somewhere to put my phone and camera in order to take pictures and make sure all of our tickets/electronics/etc. don't get lost or wet!

Would anyone recommend making a plan of action for the days we'll be in the park? We have early park admission to one of the Harry Potter parks, so I know we'll be hitting the rides in that park before our breakfast, but what about the other parks? If you've been to Harry Potter World, how long does it take in that one section of the park?

Update on the Body Process

I'm sure you can tell from my face on the right, I am not happy (the right is the newest)! Although there is a difference in the two pictures, I am NOT in an way sitting where I want to be. But I can definitely contest to not putting in the amount of effort that is required. I thought being unemployed was going to make me want to get up during the day and run; well, that didn't happen.

I am setting today as the last day of my laziness. I'm actually not going to give up this time; yes, I do very much so love cheese, but I'm not going to allow myself more than a handful of it a week! By the time Harry Potter World comes, I plan on being down to none.  Cheese is the death of my diet (on top of Taco Bell!) Today was my last day of Taco Bell and my last day of cheese. For now, I'll be back on the Natalie Jill Vegan/Vegetarian Kickstarter Meal Plan hoping to shed those last few pounds.

I Work Out

Yes.. Like the song. That one that goes "Uhhh I work out." No clue what the name of it is..

Regardless, this is my initial post about working out, wooh whoo..  Not too long ago, before muh best friend's wedding, I made a goal to get tone and be able to fit into the tiny bride's maid dress we purchased. Wellll.... I failed miserably, at least at the getting tone part. I started off very well but just could not keep motivated. In the end, I fit (quite snugly) in the Bride's Maid dress and lost all motivation afterward.  I stopped working out and started eating a lot more (and not healthy like I was previously.) Needless to say, I noticed a huge difference. I felt more slugish and definitely heavier; I hated what I looked like and did not feel comfortable in any of my clothes (which is currently still true.) I am by no means heavy, I just am not comfortable in my skin.  That is what my journey is about: being comfortable in my own body.

Now that I'm living with my boyfriend and wanting to start focusing more on modeling, I felt that it was time to get in shape (again.) My boyfriend and I are doing home workouts together: Monster Mass Workout by Mike Chang of Six Pack Shortcuts.  I'm not sure that it's the right plan for me yet (my boyfriend loves it); until I've maxed out on this one or feel like I'm not see results, I'm fine with doing it {mainly because my boyfriend is keeping me motivated :x} What's pretty awesome is my boyfriend's motivation at getting us healthy. He bought me protein, a shaker cup, and some other supplements yesterday (forgot what they're called... I'm good at this.)  The company that I currently work for actually purchased the entire company Nike + Fuel Bands; I've been using this all week to track my progress (although I'm not sure how accurate or effective it is.)

Just from eating better and smaller portions (other than lunch... that gets me every time) I feel much better. It's amazing how much your body bloats from eating too much.  I purchased an Anti-Bloat formula just to see how it works. I'm curious.

This is me currently (picture taken on Monday):

As you can tell, I really am not big. I just need to tone and burn the fat away from certain sections of my body {PS: I only take "workout progress" pictures at night. I feel like pictures at the beginning of the day are cheating because you're the skinniest of the day because you've got less water and food!}

The supplements:

  • C4 for Pre-workout (I get all jacked off half a serving because I don't do a lot of supplements like caffeine, etc.)
  • Starwberry Whey Protein (Being a vegetarian, I'm mostly excited about this one. I'm glad to be getting more protein in my diet.)
  • Labrada Lean Body by Jamie Eason (I just started taking this tonight, so I'll update next post.)
  • Nike + Fuel Band
  • & my shaker cup. c:
